Unit: Classifying Life

In this section we will explore the 8 characteristics & 5 needs of all organisms, and learn new terms related to autotrophs and heterotrophs. We will discover how life is organized from simple (cell level) to complex (biospshere level). Next, we will explore taxonomy: the describing, naming, identifying, and classifying of organisms.  We will begin to understand phylogeny (evolutionary relationships), and scientific names.  Also, we will create a dichotomous key visitors can use to identify tree species in our Outdoor Classroom!
