In this section we will explore how the structures of cells work together to perform life functions, such as reproduction, growing, and acquiring energy. We'll begin with the important elements and biomolecules of living matter and use Cellsalive.com to learn all about cells. The cell project will be a group design and construction of a living cell modeled after a familiar system, such as a store, school, or football game; the parts of the system will be analogies for how the parts of a cell function together to create a living system. We'll also explore how & why materials must enter and exit cells, how and when cells divide, and how they acquire energy.
